Principal's welcome

Mrs HazlehurstWelcome to Wainwright Primary Academy.

Situated in a highly diverse community in Mansfield, our academy has a long history since first opening its doors, in 1954, to children in the local area. Our vision is for all students to be given great opportunities to develop, achieve and enjoy their education. We will achieve this through providing a wide, balanced and interesting curriculum, engaging pupils through great teaching, and ensuring that we provide appropriate support for all. Celebrating diversity, recognising difference and supporting children to understand their place in the community is embraced within the academy, together with embedding British values within our curriculum.

The academy has gone through a number of positive changes recently, with some very experienced and talented teaching and support staff joining us, a new academy sponsor with a reputation for ensuring progress and development for all pupils, and a fabulous new building with purpose built facilities. The future for all pupils who attend Wainwright Primary Academy is bright, and we want our children to aspire to be the very best that they can be – our staff will support them in reaching these goals.

For interested parents of potential pupils we offer tours of the academy during the school day. These visits mean that you can see Wainwright in action, explore our facilities, see pupils enjoying their education, and have the opportunity to speak with staff about how we can support your son or daughter. I really enjoy meeting families and children who are looking to join the academy and feel a great sense of pride watching pupils develop during their time with us.

It is also very important to us to work closely with our local community. We will engage with parents, carers, local businesses and the general public by offering regular opportunities to find out about what we are doing within the academy, including news updates through our website and open days throughout the year.

I hope you find our website interesting and informative. If there is something that you cannot find, please contact our school office and let them know.
