War Horse experience for year 6 pupils

22nd March 2018

Year 6 pupils visit War HorsePupils from our year 6 group yesterday enjoyed seeing a production of ‘War Horse’ at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall. All of our children were completely mesmerised by the puppet horses, special effects and the moving story, which supported the learning they have been doing at the academy.

Children in year 6 have been learning about World War 1 and 2 as their topic, and they have also studied War Horse in English, producing some brilliant discussion writing about the use of horses during WW1.

We are so glad that we were able to provide them with this unforgettable experience that will enhance their learning and really engaged all of the pupils.

Another positive note was that at the end of the performance, a member of the audience asked where our pupils were from, saying that all the children were very well behaved throughout the show and well-mannered when going to the toilet. She also said well done to the teachers for giving them such a great experience. It is lovely to hear such great feedback from a member of the public, and we’re very proud of all who attended.
