This week, the whole academy got to watch an exclusive interview with professional footballer, Marcus Rashford.

Marcus has recently written his first book, ‘You are a Champion: How to Be the Best You Can Be’, in conjunction with the author Carl Anka.

The book is not only inspiring and empowering, it is a very practical guide to life for children and young people.

In this exclusive online interview, discussing everything from Marcus’ favourite teachers at school to the motivation behind their debut children’s book, Marcus and Carl reveal insights into their passion for combating child poverty in the UK, and the importance of giving children the tools they need to succeed.

The National Literacy Trust has recently joined an exciting partnership with WHSmith, MacMillan Children’s Books and Marcus Rashford to help improve standards of children’s literacy in the UK. We have been gifted a copy of the book and the academy has bought a copy of the book for every child in year 6 as a part of their leaving gifts.
