The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger! On Wednesday 27 March, our Foundation Stage 2 pupils visited Mansfield Palace Theatre to watch ‘The tiger who came to tea’, a musical play based on the book by Judith Kerr.

The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the performance with their ice cream treat and even had the chance to get up and join in with some of the songs and the tiger’s special exercises!

We were incredibly proud of the children’s fantastic behaviour throughout the visit, especially during the long walk to and from the theatre. It was wonderful to see them remembering and joining in with the story, after listening to it and discussing it in class.

We now can’t wait to see the work they create for this tiger-rific project.
