Our mini police officers have been out in the community, making us proud and representing our academy with distinction, for the first time this academic year.
On Sunday 24 September ten of our year 5 mini police officers volunteered their time and service to the Robin Hood Half Marathon event at Victoria Embankment in Nottingham.
The children had the most amazing day; they gave out medals, supplied water and cheered on all the runners, they also bestowed special golden tickets on some lucky runners, who will now receive free entry into next year’s event.
The wind and rain didn’t deter them, they had great fun running races, instigating a conger line with the RAF cadets and enjoying a range of yummy hot food using the free food and drink vouchers they received from the organisers.
Their behaviour and attitude throughout the day was exemplary, they worked so hard and really enjoyed it.
We are thrilled to announce that this year all children in year 5 will get the opportunity to take part in the mini police, through a variety of classroom sessions, visits in the academy as well as visits outside of the academy.
We can’t wait to hear more about their achievements throughout the year.
