Staff Governor
Reason I became a governor.
Over the past 15 years I have been involved in governance. Originally as a parent governor at Wainwright Primary Academy then as a staff governor for both Samuel Barlow Primary and Wainwright. I have enjoyed watching the local academy governing bodies develop. I have an inquisitive nature and enjoy being a critical friend at meetings. I strongly believe in volunteering, giving something back to the community in my roles in Girl Guiding or a school governor.
How did you find out about the role?
My present governing role was advertised by the academy.
What do you like about the role?
I like to be an advocate for children with additional needs.
With education forever changing it is wonderful to see all our school develop and get the best chances in education they deserve.
