On Friday 27, the last day before half term, we hosted a magnificent garden party, this whole academy event was organised to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

This was the first time since pre covid times that we have been able to bring together our children, family members and friends to celebrate. It was a spectacular garden party, with a picnic style afternoon tea which our children and guests enjoyed whilst listening and singing along to a medley of jubilee songs.

After everyone had eaten their scones, jam and cream they burned off some energy playing a selection of outdoor games provided by Notts Forest Premier league stars.

There was the opportunity to have photographs taken in our royal photo booth and we even had a visit from her royal highness Queen Elizabeth in person (aka Mrs Bennett).

It was a real pleasure to also have in attendance our chair of governors Mr Pete Edwards, Councillor Marion Bradshaw, and her husband Paul. Once again we are most grateful to Councillor Bradshaw who brought and personally gave out a special commemorative Platinum Jubilee pin badge to every child at Wainwright (If your child didn’t receive theirs on the day please don’t worry they are safe at the academy and will be given after the half term holiday).

This will be something to treasure for many years to come along with the memories that we can share with our future generations.
