Christmas is in full swing at Wainwright Primary Academy and the joy and happiness is oozing around all the classrooms, corridors and communal spaces. We also continue to spread the love within the community by delivering hampers, presents and food vouchers to families.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made donations this Christmas time, Councillor Marion Bradshaw, Mansfield Building Society, Thornton’s, our families, staff and their family and friends. The generosity has been overwhelming.

A shout out to our team of midday supervisors and PTA who have been working hard behind the scenes to put the hampers together and wrap all the gifts for our children, without all of you this wouldn’t have been possible.

This week the children have enjoyed a virtual pantomime ‘Oh yes they did!’ and we have devoured a delicious Christmas dinner made by our amazing kitchen team. Today Santa made a virtual visit to every classroom to talk to each child and explained that he has a present for them which is in quarantine until tomorrow when his elf’s will leave them outside the classroom door. The children’s faces were magical when Santa read out their name on the ‘good’ list. We are delighted and immensely proud to say that every child in the academy has worked so hard on the 4B’s this year, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Safe so they will all received gifts from Santa.

Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the staff at Wainwright Primary Academy, to wish all of our families and our community a happy and healthy Christmas, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year!
